Giuseppe Arcimboldo

On a recent trip to Denver, while dodging tornadoes, I was lucky enough to check out an example of the world’s first surrealist, (1527=1593).  I’ve always loved Arcimboldo and was quite surprised to see an example of his work in Denver of all places.

With regards to tornadoes – Joe was lucky enough to see, from the location of his conference, a funnel cloud forming. Security at the Denver Art Museum made spotting the tornado impossible as we were all huddled to the core of the museum away from any windows, biding our time, not knowing whether Daniel Libeskind’s architecture would stand up to the whirl of activity outside.  Suffice to say – it ended up being rather a non-event.
