90’s Cut and Paste Collage

Posted in appropriation, Art, Collage, I appropriate by petercombe on August 4, 2009

Before my current incarnation as an artist working with paint chips (readily available to the public), my medium of choice was traditional cut & paste collage – scissors, glue and a multitude of expensive foreign magazines were employed in the makings of these art pieces.  At the time I had an arrangement with Xerox Canada that gave me free reign and access to their hi-tech copiers in the western division’s corporate offices. I produced many works utilizing the copier technologies ie; color distortions, x y ratio distortions and printing on diverse materials such as silicone and transparency film.
