Rush Limbaugh’s Penthouse For Sale – What About The Art?

It took almost a year, but Limbaugh has put his 5th Avenue penthouse on the market for a cool $13.95 million.  The full-floor apartment comes with four terraces, 10-rooms, “oversized” tubs, and hand painted murals throughout. Click here to see Rush looking very at home with his gal pal Elaine Lancaster.

All is not as it seems.

The thought of Rush decorating his pad with Pierre et Gilles made me laugh out loud, thank you.

Somehow his cigar smoking is taking on a new meaning.

Lolo, thanks for the ID of the painters! I looked it up, and it is apparently their “St. Sebastian of the Sea.” The photo isn’t large enough to show the arrows which protrude daintily from his chest and stomach while he seems calmly contemplative of some sea marvel before him.
No more questions remaining for me about Rush’s “lifestyle choice.”

Oops! –Pierre et Gilles are actually photographers, not painters! Sorry. The bedroom photograph is also their “Mercury.” There’s an interesting write-up on them at http://tinyurl.com/ye8zuck.

That url was entirely serendipitous…but sometimes, meaningful coincidences just happen!

Actually, you were not wrong the first time. One of the duo photographs the model and scene, the other paints highlights on the photograph – thereby giving it a rich depth. Thank you for the link. I saw their work in New York years ago and in Paris. Beautiful in person.

Great. Just what the art world needs – homoerotic Thomas Kincaid knockoffs. Not that there’s anything wrong with that…
