I was watching The Nature of Things a couple months back and they were talking about bees. A section of the show explored Aganetha Dyck’s sculptures. This piece reminds me of one in particular. It was a miniature, partially constructed, Plexiglas house installed in a glass case in a museum that was then filled with bees to finish.

Funny you should mention her art. I happened upon her ( http://www.gibsongallery.com/artists_pages/dyck/picpages/queen.html ) art while making this post, then forgot who the artist was. Thanks for reminding me.
